Advanced Screening

Advanced screening is a comprehensive and detailed evaluation conducted by a trained psychologist, Dr. Brian Richards to aid in the understanding of complex mental health issues. Advanced screening goes beyond basic or preliminary evaluations to provide a thorough understanding of your diagnosis and behaviors.

This accessible, straightforward assessment provides a comprehensive, evidence-based report including symptoms, self-representation, pattern recognition, and how you organize your experience of life. It also provides everyday neuroscience-based practices to help you better regulate the physiology of the stress response and improve your overall well-being.

Who is eligible?

Whether you’re new to mental health care or you’ve been in treatment for years, advanced screening can be a helpful tool to improve your treatment experience and overall well-being! Who is eligible? Adults ages 18 and over who are:

What can I expect during my appointment?

  • Three in-person or virtual appointments with a trained psychologist – you choose!
  • In-depth information is collected through a narrative evaluation in the 1st appointment
  • Self-report screening measures are completed via Gladstone’s patient portal
  • Review the results of your assessment together a few weeks later in the 2nd appointment

How is this different from neuropsychological testing?

Advanced screening is different from Neuropsychological assessments, which assess cognitive functioning.
