Ashia Mann (she / her) focuses on enabling clients to effect change in their own lives. She does this by first seeking to understand their current perspectives, with an emphasis on self-acceptance. Ashia uses compassion and humor to empower clients to reduce difficulties on their own, between sessions, and over their lifetime – to grow and live more satisfying lives.
She uses an eclectic mix of DBT, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Parts Work and Experiential/Exposure therapies to heal relationships, both with others and with oneself, and to encourage skill-building. Sessions offer a safe affirming environment to discuss issues of race, gender, sexual orientation, substance use, trauma, and grief; as well as mental health struggles, diagnoses, career, and relationships.
She has worked in various mental health settings including Assertive Community Treatment as well as inpatient and outpatient. Offers: in-office, telehealth and in-community (practice dependent) therapy to adults (age 18 and above)
Ashia has a Bachelor of the Arts in Sociology and Theater from SUNY Geneseo and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Maryland. She is Certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). She also conducts ASAM assessments and is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Advanced Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
