Ashia Mann focuses on understanding the perspective of people who are looking to effect change in their own lives. With an emphasis on self-compassion and acceptance, and healing relationships, both with others and with oneself, her eclectic mix of DBT, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Parts Work, Experiential/Exposure and psychodynamic approaches also encourage skill-building. Ashia uses compassion and humor to empower clients to reduce difficulties on their own, between sessions and over their lifetime to live more satisfying lives. Sessions offer a safe affirming environment to discuss issues of race, gender, sexual orientation, substance use, trauma, grief as well as mental health struggles, diagnoses, career and relationships.
She has worked in various mental health settings including Assertive Community Treatment as well as inpatient and outpatient. Offers: in-office, telehealth and in-community (practice dependent) therapy to adults (age 18 and above)
Ashia has a Bachelor of the Arts in Sociology and Theater from SUNY Geneseo, a Masters in Social Work from the University of Maryland, completed a Certification in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), conducts ASAM assessments, and is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Advanced Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Polyvagal Therapy.
