Kelly Garafola, LCSW-C

Kelly Garafola, LCSW-C, received her Bachelors’ degree in Social Work at Saint Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania. Upon graduation, she continued her studies, obtaining a Masters’ degree in Social Work at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, with a concentration in clinical work focusing on Children and Families. Kelly has experience working as a school social worker, as well as an outpatient and in-home therapist in urban, suburban, and rural communities. In 2015, Kelly began learning Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) under a Linehan Board Certified Therapist while working at Sheppard Pratt Health Center. In addition to providing stage one DBT therapy focusing on decreasing life-threatening behaviors, Kelly also became trained in DBT-PE, which focuses on trauma treatment. Kelly’s primary goal as a clinician is to help individuals create a life worth living. She sees the relationship between a therapist and a client as a relationship of two equals, working symbiotically to reach mutually approved upon goals.
