Megan Leone-Perkins, PhD, MEd, LMSW

Megan Leone-Perkins, PhD, MEd, LMSW is a licensed social worker specializing in clinical behavioral health. She obtained her PhD in Educational Psychology from Temple University, a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Virginia and a Master’s in social work from the University of Maryland School of Social Work. Megan has spent much of her career researching the burden of chronic health issues in women’s health, behavioral health, autoimmune diseases, and oncology with a focus on improving patient-facing education materials and clinical trial design.

Megan’s clinical practice areas include adults (18 years and older) living with anxiety, depression, substance use issues and navigating life transitions (e.g., school, relationships, parenthood or caring for aging family members). Additional areas of expertise include working with clients as they understand and navigate new health diagnoses or complex comorbidities, providing a safe and affirming space to discuss issues related to sexuality and gender identity. Megan works with clients using a strength-based, solution focused approach to identify strategies, tools, and resources to advocate for health and well-being. Treatment approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and supportive care.
