Joy Odinammadu, CRNP-PMH

Joy Odinammadu has been working in the field of psychiatry for over 27yrs. She received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s of Science degrees from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Her training in Psychiatry Mental Health-Family focus allows her to serve diverse clientele from various age groups. Earlier in her nursing career, she worked in acute inpatient medical/surgical/PCU floors as well as long-term facilities. She worked for 22 years as a psych RN manager at the Regional Institute for Children and Adolescents (RICA), Baltimore, successfully managing children, adolescents, and their families with varieties of mental health needs in a residential treatment facility. Joy also worked for 13 years at the University of Maryland Midtown Campus inpatient psychiatric unit where she cared for adult and geriatric populations. She brings to Gladstone Psychiatry and Wellness a wealth of experience as a psychiatric nurse practitioner from previous out-patient practice at Kraus Behavioral Health LLC. Her core values are building therapeutic and trusting relationships with patients whilst promoting a mutual commitment to achieving their treatment goals. She has a passion for providing optimal and comprehensive care for her patients. She employs empathy as well as a patient-focused approach which has been shown to improve patient satisfaction and health outcomes.
