Adam grew up in Charlottesville, Virginia and received his BA from Vassar College. After college, Adam attended law school at the University of Virginia and then worked for 12 years as a lawyer in Philadelphia and Washington, DC. Seeking greater career fulfillment, Adam returned to school to receive his Master of Social Work degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Adam completed his social work internship at an opioid treatment program in Baltimore, where he still works part-time.
Adam utilizes a trauma-responsive, strengths-based, and goal-oriented approach that draws on a number of modalities, including motivational interviewing, CBT, and solution-focused therapy. Adam’s approach emphasizes establishing rapport and trust as the foundations of a positive therapeutic relationship.
